Medical Assistant
Provides direct patient care within scope of practice.
Qualifications
Education:
High School Diploma/GED and graduation from a medical
assistant program OR in Washington Only, has received training by a
licensed healthcare professional and meets the criteria for a Health
Care Assistant certificate levels A (specific on the job training) & E
(one academic year of formal, post-secondary education that includes
anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, asepsis, and microbiology).
Experience: Six months experience in a health care setting, as a
certified medical assistant preferred.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration:
CPR certification within 3 months of
employment (WA&OR). Washington Only-Registered or Certified Nursing
Assistant license received within 60 days of employment (must apply for
registration within 3 days of employment) and a Health Care Assistant
license level A & E required & received within 60 days of employment
(level C preferred).
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:
Bilingual English/Spanish (except
Spokane), Portland Bilingual English/appropriate foreign language based
on demographics of the area. Demonstrates ability to communicate at
level 11 on the ALTA language proficiency scale. Ability to learn
medical terminology, anatomy, disease transmission and prevention.
OR
Nursing Assistant
Provides direct patient care with direction provided from a licensed
nurse or Provider.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma/GED.
Experience: Six months experience in a health care setting, as a nursing
assistant preferred.
Licenses/Certificates/Registration: CPR certification within 3 months of
employment. Washington Only-Registered or Certified Nursing Assistant
license received within 60 days of employment (must apply for
registration within 3 days of employment). Oregon Only-Must obtain
HIV/AIDS training within 30 days of employment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required: Bilingual in English/Spanish with
demonstrated ability to communicate at level 11 on the ALTA language
proficiency scale; ability to learn medical terminology, anatomy,
disease transmission and prevention in English and Spanish; and must be
able to competently communicate verbally and in writing in both English
and Spanish.
