Program Overview
Youth Villages' Residential Treatment programs serve children with
emotional and behavioral problems. Our residential campuses
provide the setting for an intensive treatment program that combines the
unique balance of structure and freedom. This enables children and their
families to identify, understand and cope with their individual needs
and develop the skills necessary to succeed in less restrictive
settings. There are three locations in the Portland area where
Youth Villages-ChristieCare of Oregon serves culturally diverse youth.
Position Overview
The Nurse Manager Supervises nurses in the nursing department. Carries
out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's
policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing,
hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work;
appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing
complaints and resolving problems.
Some Essential Responsibilities Include:
- Takes a Leadership role is the assessment, planning, implementation
and evaluation of resident healthcare status.
- Oversees the direct care staff and nursing staff in caring for sick
youth.
- Works with consulting psychiatrist and pediatrician and oversees the
follow through on medical orders and recommendations.
- Reviews orders from consulting physicians.
- Approves work schedule, vacation and time off for all nurses.

Requirements
- Qualified applicants should possess a Nursing Degree (Registered Nurse)
from an accredited school of nursing. Must have BSN.
- Must have Leadership/Supervisory experience
- At least two years of experience in the pediatric, community health
and/or psychiatric fields
- Experience growth and development through our continuous training, as
well as tuition and licensure reimbursement, or pursue opportunities to
advance both clinically and administratively with Youth Villages.
